Enoteca Rossa ready for business in Bellaire

After a low-key soft opening, Enoteca Rossa Ristorante Italiano is ready to beat the drums.

The new Italian restaurant at 4566 Bissonnet in Bellaire is announcing its opening with four separate promotions spread over a month.

Co-owner Michael Chodrow (his partners are Barry Gomel and Michael May) described the all-day restaurant as a place to begin the day with European-style breakfast, pastry and full-service coffee bar; as a casual lunch spot for salads, pizza and pasta as well as a grab-and-go grocery; as a neighborhood spot for dinner with a full menu of Italian fare (courtesy of chef Roberto Crescini) as well as a wine bar.

“We designed this restaurant to be an integral part of our neighborhood,” Chodrow said in a statement.

The weekly grand opening celebrations include:

Week 1, Monday April 11 through Saturday April 16: Complimentary fresh pastry with any coffee, cappuccino or espresso purchase. The breakfast menu is available from 7 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Week 2, Monday April 18 through Saturday April 23: Italian panini with choice of daily soup and salad for $8; 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Week 3, Monday Arpil 25 through Thursday, April 28: Happy hour in bar with $5 selections of snacks and Italian wines by the glass, Monday through Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m.

Week 4, Monday May 2 through Saturday May 7:  Twenty percent off all bottles of wine, Monday through Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m.

The restaurant’s dinner menu includes starters of mussels with garlic, white wine, tomato sauce and oregano; house-cured salmon on whole wheat crostini; burrata with cherry tomato confit; beef carpaccio with mushrooms and parmesan salad; bruschetta with mushrooms, black truffle and pecorino; grilled octopus with grilled vegetables; and selections of cured meats and Italian cheeses.

Pasta dishes include linguine and clams with a cream leek sauce; pasta with pumpkin and Gulf shrimp; penne with prosciutto in a black truffle cream sauce; fettuccine with lamb and vegetable sauce; pasta primavera; and risotto with mushrooms and sausage.

Entrees: filet mignon with porcini sauce; red snapper with cherry tomato, garlic and basil; salmon with cannellini beans and tahini cream sauce; grilled lamb cops, frutti di mare; and a selection of pizzas.
