The Houston Open Air festival, which was scheduled for Oct. 14-15 at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, has been canceled.
Here’s the statement from organizers:
“Due to unforeseen and ongoing circumstances as well as continuous relief efforts needed to help stabilize Houston and its surrounding areas, we are cancelling Houston Open Air.”
The event was to include performances by Five Finger Death Punch, Prophets of Rage, Marilyn Manson, Mastodon, Stone Sour, Halestorm and others.
This is the second year Open Air has failed to take off in Houston. Last year organizers evacuated NRG Park due to lightning on the festival’s first day and canceled the second.
Tickets for this year’s Open Air that were purchased through Ticketmaster will be refunded automatically. Organizers say the refund could take up to three weeks. Those who purchased tickets from the box office are asked to call 281-364-3010 for refund details.
