A man was shot in the face late Monday less than two miles from Hobby Airport, but police aren’t sure what led to the gunfire.
Police were called just before 11 p.m. to an apartment in the 8600 block of Broadway following reports of a shooting, said Lt. Larry Crowson with the Houston Police Department.
By the time officers arrived, the Houston Fire Department had taken a man at the apartment to an area hospital in an unknown condition.
The man had been shot at least once in the face.
The man – whom police have not identified – would not tell officers the circumstances around the shooting.
But, while investigating the apartment, officers spotted a trail of blood that led from the apartment through a courtyard into the complex’s parking lot. In the parking lot, there was a larger pool of blood and a gun on the ground, Crowson said.
HPD major assault investigators were still looking into the gunfire early Tuesday.
