University of Houston long snapper Nolan Frese has been invited to the Texans’ local prospect day on Saturday, according to a source not authorized to speak publicly.
Frese earned some All-American and all-academic recognition last season for the Cougars.
He has started for the past four seasons and didn’t have a single bad snap last season out of 156 snaps, 75 extra points, 17 field goal tries and 64 punts. The Cougars ranked fourth in punt defense last season as Frese recorded five tackles.
The 6-1, 236-pounder ran the 40-yard dash in 4.9 seconds at his campus Pro Day workout, bench pressing 225 pounds 16 times. He had a 35 1/2 inch vertical leap and a 10-foot broad jump.
Frese was ranked as the top long snapper in Texas out of high school and seventh nationally. He was also a lacrosse team captain.
His grandfather played running back at Minnesota.
